Reasons for the Closure of Batch B Registration Portal as Explained by NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, clarified that the recent shutdown of the registration portal for Batch B potential corps members was due to a technical issue, according to a statement released by Eddy Megwa, the Director of Information and Public Relations.

After reaching the maximum required number of registrations for the upcoming batch, the portal was closed. Megwa expressed regret to those who were unable to register before the closure, ensuring that the portal would be accessible again for Batch B Stream II at a later date.

A fraudulent press release circulating online, claiming an extension of the registration deadline, was debunked by the NYSC. The organization cautioned against spreading false information about its operations, noting that culprits would be prosecuted.

Megwa explained, “The shutdown of the registration portal was initiated due to a technical glitch on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Registration continued until the maximum capacity for the upcoming batch was met, aligned with the capacity of the 37 NYSC Orientation Camps nationwide.”

He further added, “Apologies are extended to those who missed the registration window prior to the shutdown. The portal will reopen for Batch B Stream II in the coming days. Perpetrators behind fake press releases regarding NYSC are advised to cease such activities, as legal actions will be taken against them.”
