President Bola Tinubu has reiterated the unwavering dedication of his administration to implementing policies aimed at ending gender-based violence and facilitating enhanced educational opportunities for girls in secure and conducive settings.

Speaking at the launch of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) WeAreEqual Campaign in the Old Banquet Hall at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the President emphasized the critical importance of empowering girls through education and promoting gender equality.

Highlighting the successful launch of the campaign in 15 other African nations, Tinubu commended the Nigerian launch focusing on “Education as a Powerful Tool for Change,” underscoring its significance for Africa’s progress.

In his view, Tinubu stated, “It is imperative that we continue to provide avenues for all children, especially the girl child, to receive quality education and ensure equal opportunities for everyone regardless of their background, as it contributes to building a more cohesive and peaceful society.”

He applauded the African First Ladies for their unwavering dedication to advancing gender equality and narrowing the gender disparity in opportunities and appointments throughout Africa.

Recognizing the efforts of his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in championing education as a pivotal driver for promoting gender equality, the President commended her commitment to the cause.
