‘Peruzzi warns fellow musicians: Nigerians now have zero tolerance for subpar music’

Singer, Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, popularly known as Peruzzi, has observed that Nigerians have become more discerning when it comes to the music they consume.

He emphasized that the era of accepting average songs is long gone in Nigeria.

Peruzzi advised his peers in the music industry to elevate their skills and creativity, or risk fading into obscurity.

He anticipated a shift towards a new phase of high-quality music in the Nigerian music scene.

Expressing his thoughts on his X handle, he stated: “Nigerians have become enlightened. If your music is lacking, you will be overlooked.

“Even a short preview can be enough to warrant feedback from the audience. It’s undoubtedly time for authentic, enjoyable music.

“Put in the effort or take a backseat in this era.”

In a separate instance, singer Ric Hassani also voiced concerns about the declining standards of music in Nigeria today.

Hassani pointed out that while past hit songs were remarkable pieces of music, current hit tracks are falling short in terms of quality.
