Notorious ‘One Chance’ robbery suspects apprehended by Police in Nasarawa, weapons and vehicle recovered

Police in Nasarawa State have arrested members of an armed robbery gang known as One Chance, operating along the Akwanga-Keffi-Abuja expressway, according to a statement by DSP Ramhan Nansel, the spokesperson for the command.

The suspects, identified as Chibuieze Orji (52 years old) and Jibrin Mohammed (45 years old), were apprehended by police operatives from Anguwan Lambu Division in Keffi.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspects typically masquerade as taxi drivers to lure unsuspecting passengers, take them to undisclosed locations, rob them of their belongings, and then abandon them before fleeing.

“The suspects have admitted to carrying out these crimes for more than a decade, robbing numerous people,” the statement disclosed.

They also confessed to having been recently released from Shendam prison in Plateau State for a similar offense after completing their sentence.

Recovered items include a Toyota Carina II vehicle with the license plate Abuja CO 212 ABC, an axe, and a hammer.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has directed that the suspects be prosecuted in court once the investigation is concluded, Nansel stated.

CP Nadada reassured the public of the command’s unwavering commitment to combatting crime in the state and urged for their cooperation in this endeavor.
