NNL Issues Strict Warning to Clubs Regarding Registration of New Players for Super Eight Playoff

Clubs participating in the Super Eight playoff tournament have been cautioned by the Nigeria National League against registering new players, as reiterated by Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman, the NNL Chief Operating Officer, during the draw event held on Wednesday.

Abdulrahman emphasized the deadline for submitting team lists by May 22, 2024, and stressed that the roster should only include players already registered for the 2024 season.

In his address at the draw ceremony, Abdulrahman emphasized, “It is not customary to register new players when approaching the Super Eight. Please eliminate that notion,” highlighting the completion of the 2023-24 NNL season’s initial phase and the provision of two transfer windows at its onset and mid-season.

He further stated, “Any attempts for registration pre-tournament commencement or during the event will be turned down, as it goes against ethical standards.”

Scheduled to take place from June 7th to 14th, 2024, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, the NNL Super Eight playoff is set to unfold.
