Man, 37, Faces Charges for Alleged Corpse Tampering

Charged by the Police in Ibadan, Sulaiman Ikudaisi, aged 37, was presented before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court for supposedly tampering with a corpse.

Ikudaisi, of undisclosed address, denied the accusation of tampering with a corpse when the charge was brought against him.

During the court session, the prosecutor, Insp Toyin Ibrahim, disclosed that the defendant was accused of committing the offense at 3:00 p.m. on May 11 at Muslim Cemetery, Ibadan.

It was alleged by Ibrahim that the defendant unlawfully extracted some bones from the deceased, violating Section 242(1)(b) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Magistrate Mrs Kausarat Ayofe granted the defendant bail set at N200,000 and required two sureties of the same amount.

The hearing for the case was adjourned to July 16. (NAN)
