Federal Government’s Initiative to Expedite Nigerian Visa Processing for Investors and Tourists

In a bid to enhance the ease of acquiring Nigerian visas for investors and tourists, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) has given the green light for the establishment of a tripartite committee dedicated to optimizing visa processes.

The initiative aims to ensure that potential investors and visitors can obtain Nigerian visas within a 48-hour timeframe, as disclosed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammad Idris, during a briefing with State House Correspondents on Tuesday.

Idris highlighted that the committee’s approval is part of the government’s efforts to simplify procedures for foreign investors, acknowledging the current challenges in the visa application process.

“The complexity of our visa procedures is hindering the ease of doing business. Moving forward, both investors and tourists will experience expedited visa processing within 48 hours,” stated Idris.

The FEC meeting, commencing on Monday, was temporarily adjourned to Tuesday to deliberate on other significant decisions that are in the pipeline.
