APC Faces Setback as Edo Central Vice Chairman Resigns

In a surprising turn of events, the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) experienced a setback with the resignation of its Edo Central Vice Chairman, Francis Inegbeneki.

In a letter dated June 6th, 2024, addressed to the chairman of Ward 9 in Opoji, Esan Central Local Government Area, Inegbeneki cited recent developments in his local government area that were incongruent with his political values as the reason for his resignation.

Expressing the need for a repositioning of the APC in the state, Inegbeneki emphasized that his decision to step down from the party was made in the best interest of his Edo Central Senatorial District.

Reflecting on his contributions to the party over the past 25 years, Inegbeneki acknowledged his role as one of the founding fathers of the APC in Edo State and highlighted the need for a reassessment of his political future amidst the current circumstances.

“After thorough consultations with my family, friends, and political associates, I have made the difficult choice to resign from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and relinquish my position as the State Vice Chairman,” he stated.

While expressing gratitude to the party for the opportunities it had provided him, Inegbeneki underscored the importance of revitalizing the party in Edo State and thanked his supporters for their unwavering loyalty.

Concluding his letter, he extended well wishes to his colleagues in the APC, reaffirming the value he placed on their relationships despite his decision to part ways with the party.
