Death toll in Ogbaulu herdsmen attack reaches nine

In the aftermath of the brutal attack on Ogbaulu community in Agatu Local Government Area by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Tuesday, the death toll has tragically risen to nine with the recovery of three additional bodies on Wednesday.

The attack, carried out by gunmen on Tuesday evening, shook the Agatu community to its core.

Prior to this latest discovery, six bodies had been found, with many more individuals reported missing and the assailants making off with 20 motorcycles.

Confirming the grim news of the recovery of three more bodies, community youth leader Comrade Adole Jose Ehoda disclosed that, with the assistance of the military, the bodies were found during a thorough search of the area where the attack occurred.

“Working alongside security forces, we meticulously searched the vicinity of the attack and uncovered the remains of three more individuals, one of whom was previously reported missing,” Adole stated.

The victims identified so far include Haruna Oja, Michael Ondachi, Isah Adakili, John Akwila, Dangai Peter, Face, Awewe, an Igbo trader, and one young unidentified boy.
