Position Overview:

As the Business Development Manager (BDM), you will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the business by identifying and creating opportunities for revenue generation and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Market Research and Analysis:        

·        Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential customer segments in the agricultural and agric tech industries. Analyze market data to make informed business decisions.

Strategy Development:

·        Develop and implement business development strategies and plans that align with the company's goals and objectives. Identify new markets, products, or services for potential growth.

Lead Generation:

·        Identify and pursue leads, prospects, and potential clients through various channels, including industry events, networking, and online research. Build and maintain a sales pipeline.

Client Relationship Management:     

·        Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients. Understand client needs and tailor solutions to meet their requirements.

Partnership Development:

·        Identify and establish partnerships with other businesses, organizations, and stakeholders that can enhance the company's offerings or distribution channels.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

·        Achieve sales targets and revenue goals by closing deals and expanding the customer base.

·        Develop pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining competitive.

Product and Service Promotion:

·        Promote the company's agricultural products or agric tech solutions to potential customers.

·        Create marketing and promotional materials and campaigns.

Negotiation and Contract Management:

·        Negotiate and finalize contracts with clients, partners, and suppliers. Ensure that agreements are mutually beneficial and legally sound.

Competitive Analysis:

·        Monitor and analyze the activities of competitors to identify strengths, weaknesses, and market positioning. Develop strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

Forecasting and Reporting:

·        Prepare sales forecasts and progress reports to track and communicate business development activities and achievements. Provide regular updates to senior management.

Team Collaboration:

·        Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and operations, to align business development efforts with overall company strategies.

Regulatory Compliance:

·        Stay informed about industry regulations, permits, and standards and ensure the company complies with them.

Innovation and Technology Integration:

·        Explore and integrate new agric tech innovations to enhance the company's offerings and market presence.

Budget Management:

·        Manage the budget allocated to business development activities and ensure cost-effective strategies.

Customer Feedback and Improvement:

·        Collect and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and adapt products or services accordingly.

Networking and Industry Engagement:

·        Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to establish and maintain industry connections.Participate in relevant associations and organizations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business Development Manager in an Agric firm.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Agric or any related firm.
