Academics

Bachelor’s Degree or HND or OND in a science/engineering related discipline

Work Experience

5-10yrs work experience in the operations of field location and DCS controlled flow stations.

Experience in database administration will be an added advantage.

BOSIET/HUET/PTW certifications will be an added advantage

Skills

  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Providing technical support across Field Location (this may be in person or over the phone)
  • Setting up GI-accounts for new users
  • Working with the IT team on projects/enhancements.
  • Management and maintenance of day-to-day operations of all network-related systems to ensure quality of service
  • Providing support for wireless, VOIP, video conferencing and other related equipment
  • Providing technical support for end-users’ workstations
  • Performing the installation, configuration and maintenance of different operating systems, software and hardwares.
  • Providing technical support for LAN, Internet connectivity, and client email configuration issues
  • Repairing and replacing IT equipment as necessary
  • Testing new technology
  • Management and maintenance of Perimeter Fence intrusion detection System
  • Management and maintenance of Access Card Access Control System
  • Management and maintenance of Public Address General Alarm (PAGA) system

Roles and Responsibilities

IT Outstation is responsible for performing all tasks assigned in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the established standard operating procedures, written and oral instructions.

IT Outstation personnel should work under the supervision of the Maintenance supervisor to:

  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Providing technical support across Field Location (this may be in person or over the phone)
  • Setting up GI-accounts for new users
  • Working with the IT team on projects/enhancements .

  • Providing technical support for end-users’ workstations
  • Performing the installation, configuration and maintenance of different operating systems, software and hardwares.

  • Testing new technology
