Governor Soludo Appeals To Electorate To Vote APGA Candidates In Forthcoming General Elections

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has appealed to the electorate to vote for all the candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the forthcoming general elections.


Governor Soludo made the appeal during a rally organized by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Mr Ossy Onuko.


The rally was on behalf of Awka South One Constituency and to begin the campaign drive in the constituency.


The candidates include for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Mr Obi Nwankwo and for Awka South One Constituency, Mr. Igwedimma Nwofor. 


The rally was held at Ndichie Hall, Umudioka Awka, Awka South Local Government Area.


Governor Soludo reprsented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim thanked Ndi Awka South for the support they gave him during the 2021 general elections, as according to the Governor, Awka South had the highest number of votes for APGA during the 2021 Anambra governorship election, and urged them to replicate the feat in both the national and state legislative elections in Anambra state.


The governor who enumerated some of the ongoing projects he is doing in Awka, as well as other parts of the state, appealed to Anambra voters to vote for APGA for continuous development of the state and described the three APGA candidates for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Awka North and South Federal Constituency and Awka South One Constituency as the best men for the job and urged voters to vote them during the elections.


The Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Legislative matters, Hon. Anayo Nnebe urged Ndi Awka and Awka South in general to vote for only APGA candidates who will synergize with the governor both in the state and national level to move Anambra state forward.


Earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ACTDA, Mr. Onuko euologized Governor Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Ibezim as their administration has done a lot for Ndi Awka, through the construction of many roads in the city, appointments into key positions in the state government as well as other various employment opportunities.


Mr. Onuko noted that their people trooped out en masse to reassure the governor that they are solidly behind him and will vote for all the party's candidates in the February 25 and March 11 general elections.


Speaking on behalf of other candidates, the APGA candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District election, Hon. Nwankwo appealed to the electorate to vote for them, as they are competent and capable to do the job, even as he said that the party remains the true Igbo political party in Nigeria.


The event attracted many party stakeholders, various APGA support groups, men and women, students from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Ndichie Umudioka Awka, among others. 


It also featured cultural display by Ugo masquerade, while handing over of APGA flags to the various candidates by the Governor climaxed the event.
