Ozioma Okposo, wife of the late Nigerian Gospel singer, Sammie Okposo, was heartbroken she poured sand into her husband’s grave at his burial.
Naija News earlier reported that
the funeral rites of the singer, who died on November 25, 2022, kick-started
with the Farewell Praise Party (S.O.P.P.) which was held at La Madison Place in
Oniru, Lagos.
The gospel act who was 51 years as
at the time of his death was buried at a private cemetery at Ikoyi after Church
service. Flourish Peters the Lead Pastor at The L.O.G.I.C (Love Of God In
Christ) Church and Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock ministered at
the service.
Friends, family members, and
relatives of the late singer donned white attire to witness the burial. In a
video that emerged online, Ozioma couldn’t control her emotions as she wept by
the graveside after the coffin was lowered into the ground.
Mourners could be seen assisting
her when it was time to pour sand into the grave.

Meanwhile, in honour of the memory of the ace gospel artiste, the organizers of
the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards have renamed the best Soundtrack in the
movie category after the late ‘Wellu Wellu’ singer, who in his lifetime was
described as a general in God’s army and took the gospel beyond the church.
The organizers announced the last-minute change to make the 2022 edition, which was held on Saturday, December 3, in Owerri, Imo State, a truly memorable one.
