Deliver Tinubu, Dr Nentawe, other APC Candidates, Lalong urge kinsmen

•Attends Gamai festival of arts and culture

Plateau State Governor and Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council Simon  Lalong has appealed to his kinsmen to vote for candidates of the APC who are known for record of service and have clear and concrete plans to address the nation's challenges.

The Governor said this at the annual cultural festival of the Gamai people of Plateau State tagged "Bit Gamai 2022" held in Shendam.

While thanking the Gamai people for standing by him and other sons and daughters of the Chiefdom, Lalong said without their support, he would not have been recognised and given responsibilities such as the Governor of Plateau State, Chairman Northern Governors Forum, DG Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council among others.

He said "While I also appeal to all Gamai sons and daughters to support their own who are vying for various offices in the State and Federal elections, I wish to advise that we reflect deeply on the general interests of the Gamai nation as we go into the polls. At the end of the day, we should be seen to be more strategic than emotional in making our choices and networking with those who will bring progress and development to Gamai Land.

Already, I have started talking to my principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima for Federal Interventions to our land if God gives them power. Here in Plateau, Dr. Nentawe will do a good job and continuing with our legacies".

He said by the grace of God when he is also given an opportunity to serve at the Senate in 2023, he shall build upon what he has done so far in pushing the interests of the Gamai nation.

Lalong added that "This year’s Bit Gamai celebration again reminds us of the great values of the Gamai people that have been passed on from generation to generation. Despite the rapidly changing world, we still hold dearly the attributes of hardwork, diligence, honesty, confidence and above all love that the Gamai people are known for. These are things we should always emphasise whenever we come together".

The Governor said he has personally benefited from these values especially in carrying out his responsibilities to the State and nation over the years.

Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Idris Wase said the event is a reminder about the fact that since Governor Lalong came to office, there is unity and peace which has also brought in a lot of development to Gamai land.

Chairman of the occasion and member representing Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam Federal Constituency Yusuf Gagdi said the Gamai nation has a lot to celebrate Governor Lalong for because he has used his influence to impact not only the Gamai people but the entire State.

Chairman of the Gamai Unity and Development Organization (GUDO) Prof. Theodore Maiyaki, SAN said Governor Lalong has used his position as Governor to carry along all parts of the State in development and appointments which have made him a leader for all and not an ethnic champion.

He said Gamai Land has also received its fair share of projects, programmes and appointments from both the State and Federal Governments.

Also speaking, the Candidate of the APC in Gubernatorial elections Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda assured the Gamai nation that when given the mandate, he will do his best to continue with the legacies of Governor Lalong across the State and most especially in Gamai Land.

A statement signed by Macham Makut Lalong's director of press and public affairs reads that

The "Who is Who in Gamai Land Compendium" was launched while the new Miss Gamai was crowned.

Earlier in the day, the Gamai Centre for Peace and Unity was commissioned by Governor Lalong in Shendam.
